I just wanted to say, when you said "Anyone saying "ermaggerd tur bluds 2 bright" is limiting their scope of color. So don't say it." I threw my hands in the air in a happy flail. Kind of like noodle arms but a wee bit more graceful. THANK YOU. Blood can indeed be that bright |: it gets darker as it coagulates, but if there's enough of it it can become almost pink in color. And it's a great artistic touch.

Dude, so many people are really inattentive/unknowledgeable when it comes to how light affects matter, and especially how, as you said, the coagulation process affects the color. Arterial blood is oxygen rich and therefore a brighter hue, and honestly with this doll the color scheme is dark and light, so the red is an accent feature. And, lo and behold, you know that when blood is on white or light colored fabric, if diluted, turns a pink-wash or a pale rust shade.
